Our professional English speaking driver will pick up you from your hotel / accommodation early in the morning (around 08:00-09:00).
We will start from the Acropolis and the Temple of Parthenon. There we will have the unique opportunity to admire the splendid monument of the Athenian state of the Parthenon temple which built to honor the goddess of Athens in the mid-fifth century BC.
We will direct to the Temple of Zeus, which is visited open-air museum, part of unification of the archaeological sites of Athens. After we will stop for photos at the Panathenaic Stadium also known as Kallimarmaro which hosted the 1st modern Olympic Games in 1896.
Next we will visit the Lycabettus Hill where we can see a panorama of Athens city. We will have a little break for a coffee.
Our route will go on the Syntagma square, where we will see the Parliament of Greece and the most famous hotels in the Athens city which enclosing the square. Next stop is the Tomb of Unknown Soldier in front of the Parliament of Greece. There we will watch the changing of the guards of Presidency. We‘ll start our journey through the Athens Riviera with final destination, Cape Sounion.
Leaving the city center and passing through the elegant and wealthy south suburbs of Attica like Faliron, Glyfada and further away towards the suburbs of Kavouri, Voula and Vouliagmeni . We will have the chance to admire the scenic Athenian and Attica Riviera, with the Saronic Gulf on our right.
Reaching our destination, Cape Sounion, we find the famous 5th-Century BC Temple of Poseidon, standing on a breathtaking cliff top, overlooking throughout the Saronic Gulf and Aegean Sea. You will have the chance to walk in the archeological site and feel the pulse of Ancient Greece, visualize God Poseidon worship ceremonies, King Aegeas jumping to the sea, or Lord Byron get inspired for his poems.
It is built in such way, that you should visit the temple in the afternoon so you can enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets in your life!
Before leaving for Athens, lunch or dinner in a traditional Greek tavern to the area of Palaia fokaia is an experience you can’t miss.
Our tour ends, and we drive back to Athens and your hotel /accommodation.
